It’s not popular following Jesus, reading the Bible, listening to worship music. I’ve had friends distance themselves from me, waiting for the “phase” to pass. Somebody even warned Patrick, “You know, she’s really religious, right?” Which is funny, because I don’t consider myself “religious” at all.

Following the Lord isn’t about religiosity, rules and regulations… it’s about a relationship. It’s not about condemning others for their actions because I’m “more righteous”. I‘m just a girl getting through this life with faith. I’ve experienced what life was like before walking with the Lord and I’m experiencing what life is like walking with the Lord. It’s day and night to me. The more faith that I have, the more I see God work in me, taking me to new heights.

I see more and more how all of my little quirks and things that make me, me, are created for a purpose. I see that all the skills and talents that I’ve learned and have been given, are there for a purpose, to shine light in the darkness.

It is true.. with just a little bit of faith you can move mountains. You can get through the passing of your Mother, and do it with joy in your heart and courage in every ounce of your body. You can face the unknown without fear. You can experience change in your heart and in your outward actions.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Don’t know God? Just talk to him. You don’t have to be in church. You can just talk to him wherever you are. You can just say, “Hey! Are you really real?” Be expectant in what you cannot see.

If you don’t have faith, I have some you can borrow. In fact, you can just have it! When you know Christ and see the freedom that you have, you want EVERYBODY to experience that. You want everybody to have that peace that surpasses all understanding. You want everybody to have the Joy of the Lord.

Lord, thank you for letting me a beam of your light and love that can shine through on other people. Thank you for guiding my steps. Thank you for your grace and mercy. Thank you for making life so fun!!

In Jesus name,
Amen!
